Waterloo regional police officers are investigating after a woman was robbed of her car at gunpoint Tuesday night in Cambridge.

Police say the woman was getting out of her car just after 8 p.m. when she was approached by two male suspects who were wearing balaclavas.

“One of the males pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded that she hand over her keys and purse. Both men then entered the victim’s vehicle and fled the area,” police said in a news release Wednesday morning.

They fled the area in a 2020 Blue Toyota Corolla. The woman was not physically injured.

The robbery occurred in the area of Chalmers Street S. in Galt.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or might have dash cam video of the area around the time of the robbery to contact them.

Anyone with information can call police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
