Hull FC marked their return to home soil for the first time in seven months with a thumping Super League victory over an under-par Castleford Tigers.

Andy Last’s side enjoyed a dominant first half with tries from Ratu Naulago, Andre Savelio, Bureta Faraimo and Jake Connor building a big lead.

The second half lacked the same flow, but Naulago, Danny Houghton, Carlos Tuimavave and Manu Ma’u all crossed.

Jacques O’Neill scrambled over for Cas, who avoided being left pointless.

Last was handed the reins at Hull following Lee Radford’s exit in March – the last time the Black and Whites played on home turf.

Having overcome the coronavirus issues which hampered their progress after the restart, the Airlie Birds looked confident and settled with Ma’u, Savelio and Ligi Sau in particular setting the tone.

Castleford were overpowered, losing for the fifth time in a row and remain without key players including Liam Watts and Sosaia Feki through injury.

Daryl Powell’s task will be to ensure their season does not peter out with the play-offs unlikely, no relegation and six games still to play.
