Kell Brook has hit out at critics after it was announced he will challenge Terence Crawford for his WBO welterweight world title in America on November 14.

WBO champion Crawford has established himself as one of the top boxers in the world having gone 36 bouts unbeaten, but Brook claims his own ‘knowledge and experience’ makes him a ‘dangerous fighter.’

Brook, who must drop back to the 147lbs limit, says he has ‘no problem’ with people labelling him as the underdog and insists he will ‘make headlines’ by ending his opponents reign next month.

He said: ‘I’ve been told there are people writing off my chances, questioning my age, and my ability to make the weight.

‘Well, let them talk. Some people focus on reading headlines, I focus on making headlines.

‘Those people writing me off as a big underdog? No problem. I guess this big dog will be making a few people richer during a difficult time.

‘Terence isn’t too much younger than me.

‘They know that I’ve never ducked a challenge, and they should know that I’ve never failed to make 147 on the scales.

‘With age comes experience. My knowledge and experience make me a different fighter, a more mature fighter.

‘Couple that with a happy fighter, and you’ve got yourself a dangerous fighter.’

The Former IBF welterweight champion, Brook, last took to the ring in February when he knocked out American Mark DeLuca in the seventh round. 

However, the ‘Special One’ as not fought at welterweight since his defeat to Errol Spence in 2017.  

According the The Sun, Brooks will pocket £1.6million from fighting Crawford – who has previously defeated Amir Khan, Jose Benavidez Jr and Julius Indongo.
