Toronto house cleaning company says thanks to front-line medical workers by giving them a break on the homefront

Some people bang pots, others donate meals, still others take to social media to express their gratitude to health-care workers toiling on the front-line of the pandemic.

A Toronto house cleaning company has found its own unique way of saying thanks by offering front-line hospital workers in the GTA a break on the home front in the form of free hour-long cleaning appointments.

“Spending gruelling hours at the hospital doesn’t leave much time for keeping up with life at home; that is where Life Maid Easy comes in,” said John Hope, owner of Life Maid Easy Toronto.

Medical front-line workers, who’ve been the province’s first line of defence, are going through the most challenging period of their professional and personal lives as the province battles its second wave of COVID-19. This initiative by Life Maid Easy aims to “lend them a helping hand,” the company says.

Until Dec. 15, “Project Support Frontliners” is offering a free one-hour “tidy up” clean by a professional team of two. They also extend an option of infusing the cleaning products with therapeutic essential oils to help the workers relax.

“We’ve gotten five appointments in the past six days of this program being offered,” Cathrina Hakim, Life Maid Easy’s GTA assistant manager told the Star.

Hospital staff with a valid ID card can sign up and redeem this complimentary service via an online portal on the company’s website.
